There are no words to describe the beauty which arises in our lives even as God calls us to follow Him in obedience while He surprises us with such loveliness—consider the rose. See the delicate shadings of color. Imagine the silky texture of each petal. Breathe deeply the scent she releases in almost perfect praise to Him who holds her in His hand and lifts her up as His purest testimony to His goodness, Provision for His children and His Perfect and His Perfecting love.

Joy In Obedience

There comes a joy in obedience
as each of us, God’s children
recognizes God’s particular
goodness in His making and
in His shaping and His fulfilling
the variety and the loveliness
of the all the challenges
and the blessings He has made
us for; it is like the unfolding
of the petals of a rose and
the breathtaking awe we feel
at how special each petal in
each flower becomes with every
shade of pigment and every
soft and silky texture and
every hint of her scent—
and yet, oh, the joy of this
exquisite truth—God holds
us each one, as close to His heart
as this prized and lovely rose.
